MANILA, Philippines –The daughter of business tycoon Ramon S. Ang, Monica Ang-Mercado, is stepping in the role of chief finance officer (CFO) of San Miguel Food and Beverage Inc. (SMFB).

According to an announcement from SMFB, Ang-Mercado will be replacing Ildefonso Alindogan as its new CFO.

The appointment took effect on Wednesday (Feb. 5) and is said to be a part of a broader revamp within the San Miguel group.

Ang-Mercado also sits on the SMC board and has top roles in several Ang-affiliated firms, such as Eagle Cement Corp., Q-Tech Alliance Holdings Inc., and Buildnet Construction Inc.

Earlier, her brother, John Paul Ang, took over as vice chairman, president and COO.

Another daughter, Cecile Ang, serves as vice president of New NAIA Infrastructure Corp., the private operator of Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

As part of the reshuffle, SMFB director Emmanuel Macalalag was appointed new COO for food, replacing Francisco Alejo, III, but will still remain as director of the company.

San Miguel Food and Beverage Inc. is a subsidiary of San Miguel Corporation, with products and services spanning across the entire value chain, from animal feeds, fresh chicken, fresh meats, processed meats, ready-to-eat food, flour, dairy, spreads, and coffee, making it the most diversified food player in the country today.
