Business tycoon Ramon Ang was named among the Heroes of Philanthropy in 2023 by prestigious American Magazine Forbes Asia.

Based on its 2023 Heroes of Philanthropy list published Nov. 29, Forbes recognized the billions of pesos donation by Ang, who currently sits as San Miguel Corp. (SMC) vice chairman, president and chief executive officer, to build schools in Tondo, Manila where he was raised.

“Ramon Ang, the controlling shareholder of San Miguel Corp. (SMC) and a self-made billionaire, this year pledged 500 million pesos ($9 million) to build schools for underprivileged children in Manila,” the American business magazine said.

Forbes also acknowledged the 59-year-old business tycoon's P150 million contributions, through his RSA Foundation, for scholarship grants and medical aid.
