A law firm representing a Philippine offshore gaming operator (POGO) in Las Piñas, which was earlier raided, requested the Philippine National Police (PNP) to release 13 foreigners who were allegedly harmed during the search operations.

In a letter, lawyer Ananias Vargas of Vargas Law said that three of the foreigners had major bodily injuries and one received a gunshot wound during the June 26 raid, which rescued almost 2,700 Filipinos and foreigners suspected of being victims of human trafficking.

Vargas' letter was addressed to the chief of the National Capital Region Police Office, Maj. Gen. Edgar Okubo; the director of the Anti-Cybercrime Group, Brig. Gen. Sidney Hernia; and the head of the PNP Directorate for Intelligence, Maj. Gen. Jon Arnaldo.

According to Vargas, the foreigners are still being kept within the Xinchuang Network Technologies facility.

He also chastised the PNP for its "continued refusal to allow the entry of an ambulance to transport those seriously injured to the nearest treatment facility.

Previously, Vargas demanded that the foreigners be released and threatened to initiate criminal, civil, and administrative charges.

On Saturday, the PNP stormed seven other buildings in the POGO center in search of the profiles of the 1,284 rescued foreigners who remained in the facility before handing them over to their respective embassies.
