Radyo Pilipinas employees to end contract of service on Sept. 1
by Daylight Abas18 August 2023

Government-owned radio station Radyo Pilipinas is no longer renewing the contracts of service (COS) of more than 70 employees, giving them until September 1 to continue their work.

According to news correspondent Val Gonzales during DZRH’s Damdaming Bayan, the lack of funds is said to be the reason for not renewing their contract, and the employees wonder how this situation happened, stating that their salary is part of the Presidential Communications Office’s (PCO) annual budget under the Office of the President.

Based on the trusted source of DZRH News, a final notice has been released by the Presidential Broadcasting Service, stating that it will no longer renew the contract of almost all the COS working for Radyo Pilipinas.

On August 15, there were already contractual employees who had been removed from their posts by the state-owned radio station.

As of this writing, the number of contractual employees has yet to be confirmed.

According to the information gathered by DZRH News, those who will be fired are reporters, announcers, news writers, researchers, executive producers, engineers, drivers, and administrative staff from various sections and departments of Radyo Pilipinas.

Meanwhile, DZRP is a radio station under the PCO.
