A former member of the Kingdom Of Jesus Christ (KOJC) Founder, Apollo Quiboloy’s Angels of Death is under the custody of the Philippine National Police (PNP), PCol. Jean Fajardo confirmed on Friday, September 20.
In a press briefing at Camp Crame, Quezon City, Fajardo said that the former member of the Angels of Death verified the information that circulated in the past about the KOJC Founder’s so-called private army. According to the member, they were used for Quiboloy’s ‘personal interest’.
The individual confessed before the PNP that they were used to threaten the pastor’s victims. Fajardo highlighted that the ex-member’s statement coincides with the victims’ testimonies.
“At sinasabi nga niya, may mga specific cases siyang ibinigay. But sa ngayon hindi muna natin pwedeng maibigay, unang-una to protect his security and of course yung safety ng kanyang pamilya,” Fajardo mentioned.
The PNP has yet to receive the official copy of the verification made by the PRO11 on the alleged list of members in the private army who had weapons registered under their name.
“As of now, yung kausap ng ating mga operatives at imbestigador ay isa. However, may mga binanggit siyang kasamahan niya na di umanong natatakot lang to come out in the open. So nagkakaroon ng pag-uusap, para makausap din natin at makaharap natin face to face yung mga sinasabi pa niyang ibang kasamahan na tumiwalag na sa KOJC at handang makipag tulungan sa atin sa PNP,” she stressed.
The PNP were able to validate and verify the individual's identity, adding that the group was used to harass and inflict harm on the individuals who refused to follow Quiboloy’s orders. Fajardo also clarified that they would not release the identity of the individual yet for his own and his family’s safety.
“Simula noong nahuli sa Apollo Quiboloy ay patuloy yung mga lumalapit sa atin at patuloy yung ating panawagan na kung sino pa ang indibidwal na merong information na nalalaman sa mga illegal activities na nangyayari di umano sa loob ng KOJC compound, particularly yung mga nabiktima di umano ni Apollo Quiboloy at mga ginamit na mga tao para manakit o mang harass dito sa mga posible na lumalapit sa atin,” Fajardo emphasized.
Quiboloy and his co-accused are facing charges of qualified human trafficking and the violation of the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.
He is currently detained at the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame, Quezon City.
