Fugitive and Kingdom of Jesus Christ founder Apollo Quiboloy’s camp stands firm that he will not surrender anytime soon, his lawyer said on Saturday.
Atty. Ferdinand Topacio highlighted the alleged violation in the constitutional rights of Quiboloy’s co-accused, Paulene Canada, who was arrested on July 11 in Davao City.
Topacio claims that Canada was denied of her right to counsel when she was detained without counsel for 10 hours, a substantial period of time. He also mentioned that this might be a move made by the authorities to subject the accused to psychological torture.
Quiboloy is being pursued by the law for facing charges related to child prostitution, sexual abuse, and qualified human trafficking.
Previously, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) announced that they will be giving a P10M reward to anyone who can provide the whereabouts of Quiboloy, whose followers call the "Appointed Son of God."
