Pastor Apollo Quiboloy has appeared before the Senate as part of the investigation into alleged abuses linked to his religious group, the Kingdom of Jesus Christ.
This marks the first time the religious leader has attended a Senate hearing conducted by the Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations, and Gender Equality since the investigation began in December 2023.

According to a report by RH Raymund Dadpaas, Quiboloy's convoy departed from the Philippine National Police Custodial Center at Camp Crame in Quezon City, where he is currently detained, around 8:30 a.m.
Additionally, Quiboloy's co-accused—Jackielyn Roy, Cresente Canada, Paulene Canada, Ingrid Canada, and Sylvia Cemane—also arrived at the Senate, where they were directed to a separate holding area.
Quiboloy faces a non-bailable charge of qualified human trafficking under Section 4(a) of Republic Act No. 9208, as amended, in a Pasig court. He is also charged under Section 5(b) and Section 10(a) of Republic Act 7610, known as the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.
Despite these legal challenges, Quiboloy is proceeding with his campaign as an independent senatorial candidate for the 2025 elections.
