The detention room for Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy in the Senate is already prepared, the Office of the Senate Sergeant-at-Arms (OSSAA) confirmed on Wednesday, March 20.
According to Raymund Dadpaas' report on MBC Network News, this was confirmed by sergeant-at-arms, retired Army Gen. Roberto Ancan, who said an appropriate detention room has already been prepared if Quiboloy is finally arrested.
Ancan made the remarks a day after the upper chamber officially issued the arrest order against Quiboloy for his persistent refusal to attend the Senate inquiry into his alleged crimes inside his religious group.
Ancan said OSAA is coordinating with the Philippine National Police to serve the warrant of arrest on Quiboloy, who is believed to be staying in Davao.
The retired general added that they would only allow Quiboloy's lawyer and immediate family members to visit him in the detention room.
This move was made following the order to arrest Quiboloy by Women, Children, Family Relations, and Gender Equality chair Senator Risa Hontiveros, who stated that Quiboloy must be “arrested and detained” at the OSSA.
The contempt order was signed by Senate President Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri upon Hontiveros' request.
Quiboloy also has a detention area in the House of Representatives Sergeant-At-Arms after being cited in contempt for refusing to appear in the investigation of Sonshine Media Network International's alleged violation of its franchise.
