The House Quad Committee is set to resume their probe on POGOs, extrajudicial killings (EJKs), and illegal drugs this week, the Quad Comm Chairman and Surigao del Norte Rep. Robert Ace Barbers said.
The report by RH 12 Milky Rigonan on Sunday stated that the House mega panel is set to continue where they left off before their Christmas break in December.
Barbers stated that they might also look into the issue of POGOs again, despite it ceasing all operations nationwide in December 2024. According to the lawmaker, some still pretend to be working as a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO).
Moreover, the panel will also tackle the issue of EJKs, as Barbers said that victims and their families need justice. In relation to the EJKs, the Quad Comm will be continuing its probe on former President Rodrigo Duterte’s war against illegal drugs.
The panel had already submitted its partial report to the plenary before their Christmas break. The report included the names of Duterte, former Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief and Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, and former Presidential Assistant to the President and Senator Christopher “Bong” Go, who was said to be associated with the matter.
The mega panel recommended that the three individuals and the other officials named in their report committed “crimes against humanity” due to their involvement in the EJKs during the previous administration.
