The Quezon City Police District on Thursday distributed almost 200 body-worn cameras as part of their preparation for the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) 2023, which will also be used in fighting against crime in the city.
In a report by Val Gonzales, QCPD Director PBGen Red Maranan headed the distribution of the new devices to the operating unit, which includes drones that will be used to track escaping criminals.
Moreover, the QCPD added 22 motorcycle units for the District Motorcycle Anti-Criminality Response Team Task Force, a unit that is on the roads and monitoring different areas in the largest city in the National Capital Region (NCR).
According to Maranan, the QCPD is 100% ready to provide security for the upcoming 2023 BSKE on October 30.
The QCPD has over 3,900 personnel guarding 142 barangays with a population of over three million.
