The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) has arrested Police Senior Master Sergeant (PSMS) John Mollenido, the husband of PSMS Diane Marie Mollenido and the father of their eight-year-old son, John Ysmael, who were both found dead this week in separate locations in Bulacan and Tarlac.
According to a report by Val Gonzales, the QCPD has identified Mollenido as a prime suspect in the brutal killing of his wife and child.
Mollenido was arrested after he was implicated by car agent Pia Katrina Panganiban, who claimed that it was Mollenido who allegedly ordered them to carry out the crime.
Authorities said Mollenido is now set to undergo inquest proceedings along with the three initially arrested suspects, namely: Pia Katrina Panganiban; her husband, Christian Suarez Panganiban, a former police officer; and their associate, Gil Valdemoro Dy Jr.
On Friday night, the three suspects were arrested in Barangay San Agustin, Novaliches, and Barangay San Bartolome, Quezon City.
During the arrest, police conducted an on-site inventory of recovered evidence, which included identification cards of the suspects, ₱100,000 in cash, and several mobile phones belonging to the arrested individuals.
Authorities also confirmed that the mobile phones of both victims have already been recovered.
Meanwhile, the vehicle used by the victims was reportedly sold to a buy-and-sell agent for ₱450,000.
It can be recalled that the two victims were found lifeless in different locations.
On January 24, the body of PSMS Diane Marie Mollenido was discovered along Pulilan Bypass Road in Barangay Dulong Malabon, Pulilan, Bulacan. Her remains were found wrapped in a black garbage bag, bearing a gunshot wound to the head.
Five days later, the decomposing body of her son was discovered in a calamansi farm in Victoria, Tarlac wrapped in a plastic tape.
