The Quezon City Local Government Unit (LGU) suspended office work for local government employees, as well as face-to-face classes in public daycares to senior high schools, including the Alternative Learning System (ALS), on January 13 for the Iglesia Ni Cristo's "National Rally for Peace."
In their announcement on Friday, the QC LGU stated that while local government offices in the city will be closed, online transactions will remain accessible through their official website.
"Ito'y bilang pakikiisa sa idaraos na National Rally for Peace na pinangungunahan ng Iglesia Ni Cristo, na ang pangunahing sambahan na Templo Central at karamihan ng mga miyembro ay nasa Lungsod ng Quezon," the announcement read.

With the announcement, all public schools are expected to continue their lessons through alternative delivery modes.
In addition, the QC LGU has given private schools and companies the discretion to decide on suspending their operations.
"May pasok rin ang mga ahensya ng lokal na pamahalaan na nangangasiwa sa health services, diaster preparedness/response, law and ordeer at iba pang essential services," QC LGU stated.
Earlier, Malacañang announced the suspension of work in government offices and classes at all levels in Manila and Pasay due to the rally organized by the religious group.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) also announced road closures around the Quirino Grandstand, where the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) is scheduled to hold its rally.
On December 4, 2024, the religious organization announced plans to hold a rally for peace in support of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s call to not push through with the impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte.
