Quezon City on Monday reported a good turnout for the vaccinations of children aged five to 11 years old.
Malu Eleria, QC Vax to Normal action officer, told DZRH on Monday that even their online registration for the next days are now full.
"Actually sa ngayon po, maganda yung turnout, even po 'yung online booking po namin na nabuksan para po sa five to 11 ay fully booked na po for the next few days," she said in an interview.

"So I think maganda ang pagtanggap ng publiko pagdating po sa bakunahan dito sa Quezon City," she added.

One of the opened venues for pediatric vaccination is at SM North Edsa, which was redesigned to appeal to children. There are also mascots and party activities available for children there, according to the city government.
Eleria, however, stressed that children should only come to the vaccination sites if they are willing to do so, adding that parents should incentivize their attendance during vaccination.
"Wag po nating gawin na parang parusa ang pagbabakuna kasi doon medyo may takot ang bata," she said. "Mas maganda pumupunta ang bata on his or her own dahil alam niyang makakatulong sa kanya."
(Let us not make vaccination a form of punishment because that will scare the kids. It’s better if the kids would go there on their own because they know it will be helpful.)
Upon arrival at the vaccination sites, parents and children will also be informed on what to expect, especially on the side effects of the jabs.
The QC official said that the city is planning to open more vaccine sites next week, adding that the limited venues now is because the program is still on its pilot week.
"But next week, we will be expecting more malls, meron po sa regular sites namin, meron na rin po sa mga homeowners associations, subdivisions, meron po sa private and public schools," she said.

Pediatric vaccination for children aged between five and 11 years old opened on Monday, with local government units enforcing different gimmicks to encourage kids to get the jabs.
