The Quezon City local government unit (LGU) placed 80 plant box barriers in bike lanes in Katipunan Avenue, from Thornton Drive to Petron/La Vista Gate, to ensure bikers’ safety when traversing the roads.

The Quezon City LGU made the initatives to guarantee safer bike lanes while promoting active, sustainable, and environment-friendly transportation in the city.

Advocates have ramped up their efforts in urging the government for bike-friendly lanes instead of those with defects like potholes and unfinished roadworks that jeopardize the safety of mobility users.
