The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) moved the semifinals of the 2024 Reinforced Conference from Thursday, August 29, to Saturday, August 31.
PVL also moved the venue of the semifinal matches from the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City to the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
The league postponed the semifinals due to a power outage caused by the continuous rains in the past few days.
"The adverse weather conditions have led to significant damage to several Meralco power posts supplying electricity to the Philsports Arena, rendering the facility inoperable for the scheduled event," PVL explained.
PVL promised to refund all the tickets for the original date of the semifinal games.
Akari Chargers face the PLDT High Speed Hitters, while the Cignal HD Spikers go against the Creamline Cool Smashers in the semifinals.
The postponement of the semifinal games also pushed back the championship match, and third-place match of the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference to Monday, September 2.
Both the title match, and third-place match will take place at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.
