The officer-in-charge of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Eduardo Punay, welcomed 2023 by commending the exemplary efforts of the agency's employees and asking for their unwavering support of the agency's overall operations.
In his message at the DSWD flag-raising ceremony on Tuesday, Punay said that the DSWD ranked third among the best-performing agencies during the Marcos administration because of every employee's hard work and dedication to serving the public, especially during times of crisis and disaster.
Punay, upon taking over as the department's top official, assured the public that the DSWD will continue to pursue the reforms and programs initiated by Tulfo during his tenure.
Punay also requested that all DSWD employees in the central and field offices provide similar support and cooperation to Tulfo in order to fulfill the department's mandate of improving the lives of the vulnerable sectors.
