For the second-straight month, controlling inflation remained the most urgent national concern of Filipinos, according to the results of the latest Pulse Asia survey released on Tuesday, July 11.
The poll showed that 63 percent of Filipinos said that controlling inflation is still their top national concern in June 2023, followed by increasing the workers' wages by 44 percent and creating more jobs by 31 percent.
The fourth and fifth top national concerns were fighting graft and corruption in government and enforcing the law on all people, with 30 percent and 25 percent respectively.
The least national concern for Filipinos is preparing to face any kind of terrorism and protecting OFWs' welfare which both acquired 4 percent.
The poll also showed that concern on inflation, wages, and job creation was the same top national concern in March 2023.
Meanwhile, the Marcos administration gained a 76 percent approval rating for protecting the welfare of OFWs.
This was followed by responding to the needs of areas affected by calamities with 73 percent and promoting peace in the country with 67 percent.
Contrarily, the Marcos admin gained 23 percent disapproval for reducing the poverty of many Filipinos and 37 percent for controlling inflation.
The survey was conducted from June 19 to June 23.
For the top national concerns, respondents were asked of the question "Alin po ang unang isyung dapat aksyunan ng administrasyon? Ang Pangalawa? Ang Pangatlo?"
Meanwhile, in the approval and disapproval ratings, they were asked "Sa bawat isyung mabanggit, sa pamamagitan ng board na ito, maari bang pakisabi ninyo kung kayo ay (show and read rating board) sa pagganap sa tungkulin ng administrasyon ni Presidente Marcos sa mga isyung ito?".
