Pulse Asia doubts an upset will happen in the Presidential elections
by Kristan Carag04 May 2022

Pulse Asia Research expects that the results of the 2022 Presidential elections will mirror the recent survey conducted by the polling firm.

Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr., a former senator, topped the said survey, which Pulse Asia conducted from April 16 to April 21, after the Presidential candidate garnered 56 percent voter preference.

Pulse Asia Research Director Ana Maria Tabunda doubts that the results of the Presidential elections and the survey will differ since the elections will happen on May 9, less than a month after the firm did the poll.

"Magbago man, kaunti lang. Hindi na magkakaroon ng upset. Mahihirapan na talaga yung ibang contender na makahabol," Tabunda said on Monday, May 2, during DZRH's Dos Por Dos.

If the other Presidential candidates still hope to catch up with Marcos, Tabunda said that they will have to exert their "best efforts" in the remaining days of the campaign period.

"Mahirap ng maabutan pero hindi naman impossible," she stressed.

In the recent Presidential Preference survey, Vice President Leni Robredo placed second with 23 percent voter preference followed by Sen. Manny Pacquiao (seven percent), Manila City mayor Francisco 'Isko Moreno' Domagoso (four percent), and Sen. Panfilo Lacson (two percent).

Pulse Asia conducted the survey through face-to-face interviews with 2,400 registered voters across the Philippines, who will likely exercise their right to suffrage in the upcoming polls.
