During a Philippine Sports Association forum, PSC Board Member Olivia "Bong" Coo expressed her desire to recommend the construction of a sculpture in honor of the legendary athlete.
De Vega-Mercado, hailing from Meycauayan, Bulacan, left an indelible mark on Philippine sports with her exceptional performances and numerous achievements.
