The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has successfully issued physical Philippine national identity card (PhilIDs) and electronic PhilIDs to 70,271,330 registered individuals under the implementation of the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys).
As of June 16, 2023, a total of 33,422,502 PhilIDs have been delivered, while the number of issued ePhilIDs, which includes both printed and downloadable versions, stands at 36,848,828.
PSA Undersecretary Claire Dennis Mapa, who serves as the National Statistician and Civil Registrar, expressed the commitment of the PSA to continue expediting the issuance of PhilIDs and ePhilIDs.
“The PSA shall continue its efforts in expediting the issuance of the PhilID and ePhilID. We encourage our kababayans who have received their PhilID and ePhilID to maximize its use in their transactions,” he said in a statement.
Mapa urged fellow Filipinos who have received their PhilIDs and ePhilIDs to make the most out of these identification cards in their day-to-day transactions.
"Sa pagdami ng mga registered persons na may PhilID at ePhilID ay patuloy ang ating pagtahak tungo sa Makabagong Pilipinas,” he added.
To ensure accessibility and convenience, the PSA's field offices are actively engaged in ePhilID issuance, establishing registration centers, and facilitating distribution efforts through house-to-house visits and plaza-based setups across the nation.
Registered individuals who are part of the PhilSys are encouraged to visit the official website at https://appt.philsys.gov.ph to verify if they are eligible to claim their ePhilIDs.
Additionally, those who have received an official text message from the PSA can conveniently download a PDF copy of their ePhilID onto their mobile devices.
Meanwhile, addressing concerns arising from the unfortunate incident of the Manila Central Post Office fire, the PSA assured the public that the reissuance of PhilIDs affected by the incident is being prioritized.
Efforts are underway to reprint the cards promptly, ensuring that affected individuals receive their identification documents without further delay.
