Approximately 100 members of the Bunyog Party staged a protest in front of the Senate gate in Pasay City this Black Friday, September 12, condemning the ongoing corruption in flood control projects.
The group banged, kicked, and threw rotten eggs at the gates of the Senate while displaying banners targeting Senators Joel Villanueva and Jinggoy Estrada.
According to RH Jecelle Ricafort’s report, protesters shouted calls to jail members of what they described as a “syndicate of crocodiles,” allegedly including several senators, congressmen, officials from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), and contractors.
Protesters also lay down on the road with raised fists, chanting repeatedly “Laban, laban” and “mga magnanakaw.”
They carried placards with messages such as: 'Chiz wala kang heart, ‘Joel is Lying,’ ‘Jinggoy grandslam ka na,’ ‘Mark Villar, magnanakaw,’ at ‘kabuhayan, hindi flood control scam.’
Bunyog Party Vice President Engr. Maria Belinda Sevalla appealed for the independent commission established by President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. to investigate the controversy thoroughly and hold accountable those who allegedly profited from misappropriated public funds.
