A group of supermarket owners is looking at the possibility of increasing the prices of Noche Buena products before Christmas.
In an interview with dzRH's Pangunahing Balita, Steven Cua, President of the Amalgamated Supermarkets Association said there is a 4% to 8% increase in prices on all Noche Buena products.
Cua based his findings on the consecutive oil price hikes and high expenses of manufacturers like paying the thirteenth-month pay of their employees.
Meanwhile, Trade and Industry Secretary Ramon Lopez clarified that there was no approved increase in prices in certain products.

Lopez added that the last time there was a price increase in basic commodities like canned goods, milk, coffee, candle, soap, and spices was in August.
