President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. vowed to give justice and catch the assassins behind the death of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo.
The provincial governor has been shot dead by unknown gunmen, wearing pixelated police uniforms carrying long firearms, inside his residential compound in Barangay San Isidro, Pamplona, Negros Oriental.
"I condemn in the strongest possible terms the assassination of a sitting Governor, Gov. Roel Degamo of Negros Oriental," the president said in a series of tweets.
"My government will not rest until we have brought the perpetrators of this dastardly and heinous crime to justice," he added.

Marcos said that the investigation into the governor's death is 'developing rapidly' after receiving sufficient information.
"We have received much information and now have a clear direction on how to proceed to bring to justice those behind this killing," said the president.
The alleged shooting incident happened around 9:50 AM on March 4 where several civilians were also hit and were immediately rushed to the nearest provincial hospital.
The president has warned those involved in the incident to surrender.
"I am warning all those involved in this killing: you can run but you cannot hide. We will find you. If you surrender now it will be your best option," he continued.
