President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. on Sunday said that the celebration of Araw ng Kagitingan or Valor Day shows the whole world that the Philippines, despite the many difficulties, has exhibited the ‘indomitable spirit’ of Filipinos.
“Defined by our feats rather than our trials, we have emerged as a nation that stands tall and proud, guided by the principles of justice, truth and democracy," Marcos said.
"Time and time again we are never the same after each adversity, because we always face each difficulty head-on with grit, grace and determination," the President added.
To honor those heroes and heroines who made sacrifices for the country, the President encouraged everyone to re-examine the values that we live by speaking up against discrimination, helping those in need, and working towards a better future.
“May we also learn to make wise and sound decisions so that we may address our country’s pressing problems with compassion and concern for others.," he noted.
Recalling the sacrifices of our ancestors who fought for the freedom of our nation, Marcos reminded everyone that the actions done today can determine the future of the country including the succeeding generations.
“Today, let us strive towards developing a more humane, fair, and progressive society that allows our citizenry to relish their liberty and achieve their individual and collective aspirations."
