President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. has been invited to the coronation of Britain's King Charles III on May 6, according to British Ambassador to the Philippines Laure Beaufils on Thursday.
"We would love to see the president in the UK and he will be getting an invitation. In fact, we've already sent him a save the date for the coronation of His Majesty the King which will take place on the 6th of May," Beaufils revealed in an interview with CNN Philippines.
She added that the UK has already sent President Marcos a "save the date" notice for the coronation.
In an earlier announcement from Buckingham Palace, the crowning of Britain's King Charles III this May will be celebrated with traditional processions, a concert at Windsor Castle, street parties, light shows, and community volunteering.
Charles, 74, automatically became king on the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth last September.
The grand coronation ceremony for him and his wife Camilla will take place on Saturday, May 6 at Westminster Abbey.
