President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. on Friday said he is committed on supporting all efforts needed in order to ensure the efficiency and productivity of Social Security Services (SSS) in providing services for all Filipinos.
He issued the remarks during the state insurer's 65th anniversary celebration.
The President lauded the company for being a “bastion of stability” for Filipinos for over six decades.
"As your president, I assure you that I commit myself to every initiative that will improve the efficiency and productivity of the SSS and thereby improve the lot and welfare of our people," Marcos said in his speech.
He also encouraged SSS employees to "always embody excellence" and "put the best interests of the Filipino people above everything else."
Marcos likewise noted the value of the agency in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak, saying that it is satisfying to watch the SSS’s good effect on the community and its members’ quality of life continue to rise.
The SSS was established on September 1, 1957 by virtue of the Social Security Act of 1954 to serve as a government financial institution that provides social security protection to all Filipino workers.
