President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. has appointed Rolando Ledesma Macasaet as acting president and chief executive officer of the Social Security System (SSS).

His appointment was announced by the Office of the Press Secretary (OPS) on Thursday.

Macasaet took his oath before Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.

Prior to his appointment in the SSS, he previously served as full-pledged President and General Manager (PGM) of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS).

Macasaet was also tapped as GSIS chairman of the board and officer-in-charge.

From 1998 to 2005, he also served as Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCCs) Chairman, President, and CEO.
