Current US President Joe Biden lauded his Vice President Kamala Harris for having been a “tremendous partner” and a “public servant full of integrity, courage, and character” in the face of a crushing defeat to Republican rival Donald Trump.
Biden recounted Harris stepping forward as Democrat nominee, calling her campaign an embodiment of possibilities that could be set in motion with “a strong moral compass” and a “clear vision” for a freer, more just America, replete with opportunities.
Selecting Harris as his running-mate for the 2020 elections was the very first decision he made as nominee, and the best one, he said.
“Her story represents the best of America’s story,” Biden wrote on X. “And as she made clear today, I have no doubt that she’ll continue writing that story.”
The President assured that Harris will go on championing all the American people, “fight(ing) with purpose, determination, and joy.”
“Above all, she will continue to be a leader our children will look up to for generations to come as she puts her stamp on America’s future,” he concluded.
On July 21, Biden stepped down from the 2024 presidential race, which may have resulted in his second consecutive term in the White House. He instead endorsed Harris, who ran for the Democrat party in his stead.
