PRC backs probe on alleged food poisoning to 216 people in Agusan del Sur

The Philippine Red Cross supports the investigation of the suspected food poisoning in Agusan del Sur after a total of 216 flood survivors were admitted to the hospital after eatign the food served to them by a food truck on Monday evening.

In a report by RH 52 Edniel Parrosa, the PRC focused on checking the safety of the admitted patients, with 90 of them already discharged and transported to the non-government organization on Tuesday.

The PRC has already put up a welfare desk at the Esperanza Medicare Community Hospital to swiftly address concerns. However, the distribution of food packs is still suspended while the investigation of the food poisoning incident is still ongoing.

Moreover, the Humanitarian Assistance Group, through an issued statement, assured its support for the investigation and extended cooperation regarding the incident.

There is still no conclusive information released on the cause of food poisoning, particularly since the foods were from the PRC.
