Pope Francis was admitted to Rome's Gemelli Hospital for treatment of bronchitis and to undergo diagnostic tests.

“This morning, after his audiences, Pope Francis will be admitted to the Agostino Gemelli Polyclinic for necessary diagnostic tests and to continue hospital treatment for his ongoing bronchitis,” the Vatican said in its announcement on Friday.

The Holy Father has been battling bronchitis for several days, as mentioned in a few of his recent public addresses.

On February 6, the Holy See Press Office also confirmed that the Pope was experiencing bronchitis and would hold his audiences at his residence, Casa Santa Marta.

In a recent update, the Vatican announced that initial tests indicate a respiratory tract infection, and the Pope has commenced pharmacological treatment in the hospital.

Furthermore, Pope Francis' condition is stable, though he is experiencing a mild fever.

Due to the Pope's hospitalization for bronchitis, changes have been made to the upcoming Jubilee events.

The Jubilee Audience set for tomorrow, February 15, has been called off.

Meanwhile, the Holy Mass for the Jubilee of Artists and the World of Culture on Sunday, February 16, will be presided over by His Eminence Cardinal José Tolentino de Mendonça, Prefect of the Dicastery for Culture and Education.

Additionally, the meeting with artists, which was originally scheduled for Monday at Cinecittà, has been canceled due to the Pope's inability to attend.
