The Misamis Occidental Provincial Police looks into all possible motives behind the murder of broadcaster Juan Jumalon, also known as Johnny Walker.
PCol. Dwight Monato shared on Monday, November 6, that the police still looking into the possibility that the murder stemmed from the job of Jumalon as a broadcaster even though his family said that he does not tackle 'sensitive issues' in his program.
Monato said that the program of Jumalon focuses on public service and advertisements for businesses.
"Based naman sa panayam namin sa kanyang pamilya, hindi naman siya hard-hitting na broadcaster," Monato said during DZRH's Breaktime.
Armed gunmen entered the home studio of Jumalon on Sunday, November 5, in Calamba, Misamis Occidental, and shot the broadcaster in the middle of a live stream.
The Philippine National Police released a composite sketch of one of the three suspects involved in the murder on Monday.
Based on the composite sketch, the suspect has a height of between 5'5 to 5'6, has a brown complexion, and is estimated to be around 40 years old.
The suspect wore a red hat, a green shirt, and black shorts when the crime happened.
The Presidential Task Force on Media Security has also offered a reward of Php 100,000 in exchange for information that can lead to the arrest of individuals behind the murder of Jumalon.
Monato said that Misamis Occidental Police units and checkpoints across the province have been alerted of the motorcycle used by the suspect to escape from the crime scene.
