Police launched a manhunt operation for a person of interest, the alleged gunman, in the murder of radio broadcaster Cris Bundoquin in Calapan, Oriental Mindoro.
PCol. Samuel Delorino, chief of the Oriental Mindoro Provincial Police, refused to name the person of interest but confirmed that he resides in the province.
"Iyon ang suspect natin na allegedly iyon ang triggerman," Delorino said on Thursday, June 1, during DZRH's Damdaming Bayan.
Delorino also said that police will look into all possible motives for the killing of Bundoquin, including his statements in his program.
"Itong ating biktima ay siyempre may personal na private life din iyan at mayroon din siyang kaunting business. Isa pang tinitignan natin ay yung kanyang profession as a media respresentative," Delorino said.
"Hard-hitting talaga siya kung magsalita doon sa mga pinapatamaan niya na gusto niyang tuligsain. Lahat iyan ay aming iniimbestigahan," he added.
As per police reports, motorcycle-riding suspects pulled up at a store in Brgy. Sta. Isabel, and shot Bundoquin before fleeing from the scene.
The driver of the motorcycle perished after being chased by the son of the victim while the gunman remains at large,
