Forces from the Regional Mobile Force Battalion of the National Capital Region Police Office (RMFB NCRPO) spent the night at Commonwealth Avenue awaiting the arrival of anti-government protesters.
The Quezon City Task Force are stationed by Tandang Sora, alongside the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority or MMDA personnel, who are ready to offer their assistance.
The policemen, sporting helmets, shields, and batons, among other things, will be on the first lines of defense. According to the Philippine National Police (PNP) over 22,000 officers have been deployed for President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s third State of the Nation Address (SONA), with an estimated 8,000 of these stationed at along Commonwealth Avenue.
The protest permit granted by the Quezon City government gives the rally room from the road by the office of the Phillippine Coconut Authority (PHILCOA) to the Diliman Doctors Hospital. This is a smaller area than was allotted last year, which extended all the way to St. Peter's Church. Law enforcement may push the rally back as well, as ordered by superiors.
There are also checkpoints at the borders of the Batasang Pambansa Complex, such as at the border between Rizal and Quezon City, or the San Mateo IBP bridge.
PNP Chief Police General Rommel Francisco Marbil will be inspecting the security of his forces and their condition.
The pro-government gathering will be held near the Commission on Audit building, also along Commonwealth Avenue.
