The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday filed criminal complaints against the suspect behind the fatal shooting incident inside the campus of the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) that killed three individuals, including a former mayor in Basilan.

In a report from RH Val Gonzales, the PNP filed three counts of murder and frustrated murder against Dr. Chao-Tiao Yumol before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office in relation to the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

Yumol is also facing charges for violation of the New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016 and malicious mischief amounting to P80,000.

On Sunday, former Lamitan City mayor Rosita Furigay, her aide Victor George Capistrano, and university security guard Jeneven Bandiala were killed in the shooting incident inside the Ateneo campus in Quezon City.

Furigay was supposed to attend the Ateneo Law School graduation of her daughter, Hannah Furigay, who was wounded and rushed to the hospital.

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) cites the suspect's "personal motives" behind the killing.
