A police and a drug suspect perished after a buy-bust operation led to a shootout on Tuesday, August 8, in Indanan, Sulu.

Reports identified the slain police officer as PSSgt. Julmakar Paddam Alih, 37 years old, and the suspect as Jundol Abdurahman, 45 years old.

The operation resulted in the arrest of four other drug personalities: Jibal Hassan Sabtal, 30; Itil Maldisa, 18; Mansul Alih, 48; and Binang Alano, 33.

Law enforcement units recovered suspected crystallized methamphetamine, locally known as shabu, estimated to have a street value of Php 240,000.
