The Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) considers the number of applicants for the Cadet Admission Test this year as "record-breaking" after receiving a total of 77,410 applications.
According to PLT. COL. Louie Gonzaga, spokesperson of the PNPA, this is the highest number of applicants in the history of the PNPA Cadet Admission Test, surpassing last year's figure of 33,085, which is more than double.
COL. Gonzaga stated that one of the factors contributing to the surge in the number of young individuals aspiring to enter the police service this year is the active promotion of the PNPA and PNP through social media.
The easier application process, which is now conducted online, is also seen as a significant factor.
The PNPA hopes that the number of applicants, currently at 77,000, will continue to increase as aspiring police officers can still apply until June 30.
