Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesperson Jean Fajardo on Tuesday, Jan. 2, said there is no decision yet if a no-fly zone and signal jamming would be enforced during the Traslacion or the Feast of the Black Nazarene.
Speaking to the reporters in an interview, Fajardo said the decision would depend on the security threat assessment in the area.
"Maliban sa paggamit ng signal jammer particularly doon sa controlled areas, we will see as the day progresses. I'm sure, a few days before January 9, there will be a decision kung mag-signal jammer," she said.
"Sabi nga ng ating Chief PNP [Benjamin Acorda Jr.] na he will be relying doon sa security threat assesment ng mga tauhan on the ground. It is being considered but for now, hindi pa napagdedisyunan," the PNP spox added.

Fajardo also mentioned that the PNP would be authorizing drones if these are registered.
According to the PNP spox, more than 15,000 PNP personnel would deployed during Traslacion which is set for next Tuesday, January 9.
The local government unit of Manila has started the preparations for the annual procession. It recently ordered the Manila Police District (MPD) to remove all street vendor stalls around the vicinity of Quiapo Church.
Acting MPD director PCol. Arnold earlier told DZRH that there would be "no andas wall" this year, which means devotees would be allowed to approach the carriage carrying the Image of the Black Nazarene.
