The Philippine National Police (PNP) is calling on two other alleged neophytes to come forward following the fatal hazing of a 19-year-old maritime student in Dasmariñas, Cavite.

PNP spokesperson Randulf Tuaño made the appeal at Camp Crame after authorities identified 21 individuals allegedly involved in the violent initiation rites of a fraternity linked to the Philippine Nautical and Technological Colleges (PNTC).

Tuaño said testimonies from the two other neophytes, who reportedly underwent the same initiation process, would help strengthen charges for violation of the Anti-Hazing Law that police plan to file against the suspects.

The Cavite Police earlier disclosed that nine of the 21 individuals are considered primary suspects with direct participation in the hazing. Three of the nine were captured on CCTV bringing the unconscious victim to General Trias Medical Center on March 1. One of the three has surrendered and is now under the custody of the General Trias Police.

Autopsy results showed that the victim died from severe blunt force trauma to the lower extremities. Authorities also revealed that a chili pepper was found in the victim’s genital area, indicating possible abuse during the initiation rites.

Police said investigations are ongoing as they work to locate the remaining suspects and gather additional evidence to ensure accountability in the fatal hazing incident.
