The Philippine National Police (PNP) uncovered initial evidence indicating illegal activities by Vertex Digital Entertainment Technologies Inc. within the raided Century Peak Tower in Manila.

According to PNP Spokesperson PBGen. Jean Fajardo, the initial results of the ongoing digital forensic examination revealed operations involving love scams and cryptocurrency scams using IT equipment and gadgets seized from the building.

Furthermore, she mentioned that this is a clear violation of the Securities Regulation Code, which was the primary basis of the warrant served by the Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) on October 29.

"Initially, I was informed na mayroon na po silang nakita na mga ebidensya ng alleged reported scamming activities," Fajardo said in a press briefing at Camp Crame on Thursday.

"Mayroon na po even 'yung mga cryptocurrencies which is really the subject po ng kanilang cyberwarrants," she added.

Fajardo further stated that they are awaiting the completion of the digital forensic examination before filing charges against the operators and board of directors of the company.

National Capital Region Police Chief PMGen. Sidney Hernia and ACG Director PMGen. Ronnie Cariaga, who were relieved from their posts for 10 days starting November 7, remain relieved as of today.

The administrative relief for both officials was extended by an additional five days as the investigation remains incomplete.
