The Philippine National Police (PNP) will file an amended case against the suspect in the viral road rage incident that led to a shooting in Antipolo.
In an interview at Camp Crame, Antipolo Police Chief PLt.Col. Ryan Manongdo stated that the complaint will be elevated to a murder charge.
On Monday, the PNP filed three counts of frustrated murder charges and violation of the COMELEC gun ban, but one of the four victims injured in the shooting later died from their injuries.
Manongdo further explained that investigators discovered bullet wounds on the back of the 52-year-old victim, who later died, a key detail that was factored in when filing the non-bailable case.
"Ngayong araw po inaantay na lang natin ang death certificate at medical records upang mai-upgrade na natin ang kaso sa murder," said Manongdo.
In addition to the murder charge, two counts of frustrated murder will still be pursued against alias Kenneth, while the suspect's partner, who was also involved, will no longer be filing a complaint.
