The Philippine National Police (PNP) will not pursue other personalities linked to former President Rodrigo Duterte’s Drug War until a warrant for their arrest has been issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) through the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL).
In a report by RH 52 Edniel Parrosa, PNP Spokesperson PBGEN Jean Fajardo has said the national police’s commitment to INTERPOL remains unchanged under the “principle of reciprocity,” which entails mutual cooperation between the Philippines and the global organization.
This means the PNP is ready to serve any new arrest warrant issued by the ICC through the INTERPOL, in accordance with its legal obligations, said Fajardo.
So far, the INTERPOL has not requested police assistance regarding a possible arrest warrant. Hence, the PNP has not initiated efforts to pursue others linked to the alleged crimes against humanity.
Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa and former Police Chief Oscar Albayalde are among those who may face an arrest warrant in connection to the case.
