The Philippine National Police (PNP) Region 11 officers conducted a manhunt operation at the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) compound in Davao City on Saturday to serve an arrest warrant for evangelist and fugitive Apollo Quiboloy.
Police units along with members of the PNP Civil Disturbance Management units have been on-site and were given a directive to serve the warrant in the morning.
About 2,000 police officers stormed the compound and blocked all entry and exit points.
Under the command of Police Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre II of Police Regional Office-11, officers in riot gear were positioned at the entrance of the KOJC compound.
This was the second attempt to serve the arrest warrant. The first, in June, saw heightened tensions as police used ladders to scale the compound’s high fence and gates.
Quiboloy, who claims to be the 'appointed son of God,' is facing child sexual abuse and qualified human trafficking charges alongside five other individuals.
Paulene Canada, one of the accused, was arrested last month, while the others—Cresente Canada, Ingrid Canada, Jackielyn Roy, and Sylvia Cemanes—remain at large.
