The Philippine National Police (PNP) is gearing to assist in the plan to vaccinate at least 250,000 individuals per day in Metro Manila during the two-week enhanced community quarantine of the region.
PNP Chief PGen. Guillermo Eleazar has placed the Medical Reserve Force of the national police on standby in order to assist in the vaccination process in the National Capital Region.
Eleazar also tasked the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) to prepare in deploying additional cops, and a contingency plan for the vaccination rollout.
"Malaki-laki ang 250,000 na katao kada araw kaya’t tutulong ang PNP para masigurong magiging maayos, mabilis at ligtas ang bakunahan sa buong Metro Manila," Eleazar said on Sunday, August 1, in a statement.
"Ihahanda din natin ang assets ng PNP kung sakaling kailanganin ito para sa paghahatid ng bakuna sa ibang lugar," he added.
Eleazar also tasked concerned police commanders to coordinate with local government officials, particularly barangay officials, to discuss the vaccination process during the implementation of enhanced community quarantine from August 6 to August 20.
