The Philippine National Police (PNP) has obtained the names of those suspected to be members of the armed 'Angels of Death' connected to religious leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.
During a press briefing at Camp Crame on Monday, PNP Spokesperson PCol. Jean Fajardo confirmed that the licenses and registrations of the firearms belonging to those on the list will be revoked, pending verification.
“Titignan natin ngayon, may mga pangalan po tayong mga sinasabi si Gen. Torre. So iccheck nga po natin doon sa FEO kung mayroon pa nga itong mga existing LTOPF at kung registered ang kanilang firearms," Fajardo said.
"If meron pong LTOPF at registered ang kanilang firearms, ang una nating gagawin is to request for the revocation," she added.
In a previous statement on DZRH, Davao Police Region 11 Director Police BGen. Nicolas Torre III revealed that the so-called private army used to threaten individuals speaking out about the religious leader's alleged abuse comprises former accredited security personnel and reservists.
Meanwhile, the PNP has identified several individuals who may face charges of obstruction of justice for allegedly concealing Pastor Quiboloy's whereabouts.
This group includes some officers of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC), members of Quiboloy's legal team, and others whose identities they prefer to keep confidential for now.
The PNP has also formed a special investigation team, led by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), to build the necessary case.
Gen. Torre also mentioned with DZRH that they are examining whether former President Rodrigo Duterte could face charges for potentially having been involved with Quiboloy when he served as an administrator of KOJC properties.
