The Philippine National Police (PNP) have laid out a security plan for the third Trillion Peso March, which is set for the 40th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution on February 25.
In a report by RH 52 Edniel Parrosa on Friday, PNP Spokesperson PBGen. Randulf Tuaño said during a press conference at Camp Crame that the prayer and indignation rally will be held on February 22, Sunday, while the march has been slated for February 25, Wednesday.
The PNP will deploy no fewer than 11,000 officers to ensure security during these events, which around 50,000 individuals are projected to attend.
As of reporting, the PNP has not monitored any other gatherings.
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) earlier disclosed that a number of groups were actively targeting the military, ahead of the upcoming EDSA anniversary.
However, the PNP said it does not perceive any threats so far, although it will continue to conduct threat assessments before the rally.
