The Philippine National Police (PNP) is now participating in the search for former presidential spokesperson Atty. Harry Roque.
Roque is being sought for arrest after being cited in contempt by the House quad-committee for failing to submit documents related to his wealth, which is linked to the operations of illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) in the country.
The contempt citation against Roque was issued due to his non-compliance with submitting the documents and his absence from the committee’s prior hearing.
The specific documents expected from the former spokesperson include a copy of his Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN), records from Biancham Holdings, and proof of the sale of properties in Parañaque City, which he claimed were the source of his wealth increase.
On Friday, authorities went to Roque's law firm at Antel Corporate Center in Makati City to serve the arrest warrant, but Roque was not found at the location.
Previously, Roque accused the quad-committee of being a "kangaroo court" and announced that he would no longer cooperate with it.
Meanwhile, Surigao del Norte Representative Robert Ace Barbers, Chairman of the quad-committee and the House Committee on Dangerous Drugs, emphasized that there standing evidences linking Roque to illegal POGO operations.
