The Philippine National Police (PNP) has identified a lead and established a Special Investigation Task Group to conduct a thorough investigation into the recent killing of stand-up comedian Gold Dagal.
PBGen. Jean Fajardo, Director of the Police Regional Office 3, confirmed that there are leads in the investigation, with CCTV footage capturing three people who may have a connection to the killing.
However, Fajardo has not disclosed additional information, as police continues to work closely with the friends and family of Gold Dagal in the course of the investigation.
“As to the motives, marami po tayong tinitignan diyan. May mga lumalabas po sa social media na ilang mga pananaw kung ano po 'yung motibo sa pagpatay. 'Yan din po 'yung tinitignan po ng Angeles City Police Station,” Fajardo stated.
The comedian's mother previously suggested that her son's jokes could have provoked anger from someone.
On March 15, the 38-year-old comedian, known for his dark humor, was fatally shot after three male suspects approached him inside a dining venue where he was preparing to perform.
