Negros Oriental 3rd District Rep. Arnolfo "Arnie" Teves Jr. is facing three counts of murder complaints in connection to the killings perpetuated in Negros Oriental back in 2019.
On Tuesday, the Philippine National Police - Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) filed the complaints before the Department of Justice (DOJ) against Teves and five others.
The five other suspects were identified as:
- Hannah Mae
- Richard Cuadra or also known as Boy Cuadra
- Jasper Tanasan or also known as Bobong Tanasan
- Rolando Pinili or also known as Inday
- Alex Mayagma
In an interview with the media, complainants' lawyer Levito Baligod said there were four victims in the 2019 Negros killing.
He said among them is former Negros Oriental board member Miguel Dungog.
Based on the police's investigation data form, Dungog was shot dead in front of the Silliman University Medical Center in Dumaguete City at around 3:54 pm on March 25, 2019.
The other two killing incidents happened at Sitio Labugon, Basay town on May 25, 2019, and at Barangay Malabugas, Bayawan City June 23, 2019.
"Ang witnesses po ay 'yung mga tao na kasama sa pagpatay. Ito 'yung mga assasination team at nag-execute ng affidavit," he said.
The murder complaints were filed against Teves, days after the brutal assassination of former Negros Oriental governor Roel Degamo.
Teves and his brother Pryde Henry are also being linked to Degamo's killing.
However, on Monday, Teves shut down the allegations, saying that if he wanted to kill the former governor, he should have ordered it before the local and national elections last year.
