The Philippine National Police (PNP) Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) summoned several individuals in hopes of clarifying the case surrounding the murder of former Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Board Secretary Wesley Barayuga.

This was confirmed by PNP Spokesperson PBGen. Jean Fajardo amid the revival of several cold cases resulting from hearings by the House quad-committee regarding alleged extrajudicial killings that occurred during Duterte's administration as part of its campaign against illegal drugs.

According to Fajardo, the CIDG has issued subpoenas to several individuals and documents related to the developing theory in the investigation.

Fajardo further stated that the individuals being subpoenaed by the PNP's investigating arm are not police officers.

Meanwhile, the CIDG has not yet filed murder and frustrated murder charges against former PCSO General Manager Royina Garma and other individuals allegedly involved in the murder of Barayuga.

CIDG Director PBGen. Nicolas Torre III expects to meet again with the victim's spouse to address the complaint.
