Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief PGen. Benjamin Acorda Jr. denied that provincial police directors only have a one-year term limit.

In an interview with DZRH's Magandang Umaga Pilipinas on Thursday, June 22, Acorda said that provincial police directors can remain in their areas of jurisdiction for up to two-years based on their performance.

"Bilang hepe ngayon, ang talagang tinitignan natin is yung performance ng ating mga third-level. Kung okay naman yung performance nila, kahit more than one year, hindi naman dahilan para tanggalin natin," he said.

"Kasi mahirap na maganda pa yung ginagawa nila, wala naman nakikitang too much familiarization na tinatawag, na naging basis ng two years, wala dahilan na tanggalin na," the PNP chief added.
